The United Nations Office to Support the International Decade for Action “Water for Life” 2005-2015 (UNO-IDFA)/ UN-Water, Decade Programme on Advocacy and Communication (UNW-DPAC) is jointly co-organizing with UN Habitat, the City of Zaragoza, Spain, and the SWITCH project Consortium a conference on urban water management.
This major event under the theme ‘Sustainable Water Management in Cities: engaging stakeholders for effective change and action’, will be held from 13 to 17 December 2010, in Zaragoza, Spain.
The meeting provides a platform for over 200 experts, local government officials, media specialists, key water operators and political representatives of cities and stakeholder groups come together to debate on the issues.
The conference is designed to promote the maximum sharing and learning of experience and specifically orientated to agree a Water Urban Management Declaration for the World Water Day 2011.
With a special focus on stakeholder engagement the Zaragoza conference will follow-up on previous SWITCH conferences. The Zaragoza meeting is an excellent opportunity to follow-up on the 2009 SWITCH conference held at UNESCO-IHE in Delft, the Netherlands.
